INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP

While most leaders have an intellectual understanding of the benefits of diversity and inclusion, many feel unclear about what inclusive leadership looks like day-to-day.

Our Inclusive Leadership workshops and programs support leaders to develop the mindset, knowledge and skills necessary for them to bring out the best in diverse individuals and teams, whether in the context of recruitment, meeting processes, project allocation or recognition and reward. Leaders leave our programs with a toolkit of inclusive habits and practices that they can begin using immediately.

MITIGATING UNCONSCIOUS BIAS

Our unconscious bias workshops begin with an examination of the science of biases, so that participants understand that - just like every other human being - they're in possession of a brain that frequently makes incorrect assumptions, ignores vital data and seeks out information that confirms existing beliefs (regardless of whether they are correct or not).

We then introduce the tools and processes that mitigate bias in 'red flag' scenarios (e.g. recruitment, performance management, decision-making). Importantly, we provide ample opportunity for participants to practice using safeguards so that they can experience their value for themselves.

CULTIVATING INCLUSIVE CULTURES

If organisations are to reap the benefits of a diverse workforce, they must commit to creating an environment in which difference is valued and celebrated. This requires the entire workforce - not just leaders - to understand that 'if we do not intentionally include, we will unintentionally exclude' (Joe Gerstandt), and then to act upon that understanding.

Our Inclusive Cultures and Inclusive Behaviours programs equip individuals and teams with both the motivation and tools to draw out and appreciate difference in their decision-making, problem-solving and daily interactions in the workplace.

REVERSE MENTORING PROGRAMS

While ample data demonstrates the benefits of gender equality in the workplace, many employers struggle with translating good intentions into outcomes. As with most organisational change initiatives, the challenge in creating gender equal organisations is not merely in influencing how people think, but in influencing how people feel.

Based on research demonstrating the critical role of senior male leaders in advancing the cause of gender equality, Reverse Mentoring aims to help men understand - and feel - the need for cultural and systemic change to advance gender equality. Senior male leaders (mentees) are paired with female colleagues in a series of facilitated conversations aimed at personalising how gender can impact career progression and workplace experience. The results are profound; at the completion of a recent program, 100% of the mentees agreed that as a result of participation, they would be a stronger advocate for gender equality, and that they would recommend the Program to other men. Further, 80% of the mentees were able to identify specific actions that they had taken in relation to gender equality.
