If organisations are to reap the benefits of a diverse workforce, they must commit to creating an environment in which difference is valued and celebrated. This requires the entire workforce – not just leaders – to understand that ‘if we do not intentionally include, we will unintentionally exclude’ (Joe Gerstandt), and then to act upon that understanding.
