TINY HABITS®
SMALL CHANGES THAT HAVE A BIG –
AND LASTING – IMPACT

In an era of unprecedented uncertainty and shifting expectations, the ability to learn and change is more critical to workplace success than ever before. Paradoxically, the same factors that drive the need for adaptive skills – increasing complexity, accelerating technology, information overload – mean that many employees feel that they simply don’t have the bandwidth to learn. One. More. Thing.
Which is why BJ Fogg’s Tiny Habits® methodology is an indispensable tool for 21st century organisations and the people who work in them.
The Tiny Habits® methodology was developed by Dr BJ Fogg, Director of the Behavior Design Lab at Stanford University and author of the New York Times bestseller Tiny Habits: The Small Changes That Change Everything. BJ’s research demonstrates that only three things will change behaviour for the long term:
a: Having an epiphany
b: Changing your environment (what surrounds you)
c: Taking baby steps.
Option A is unreliable – epiphanies make great stories but are very difficult to generate. Option B can work wonders, but is often beyond our control. Fortunately, Option C offers a simple, practical way to develop behaviour change skills that can be applied to almost any domain of life and work.
Once people learn how to create Tiny Habits, they quickly begin to appreciate the power of baby steps. And because Tiny Habits focus on helping people feel good about their successes, they create a positive ripple effect for individuals and the teams and organisations in which they work.
By the time a workshop starts at 9am, most people today have read and responded to numerous emails, consumed a vast amount of stress-inducing information and probably made a phone call or three. This means they commence the learning experience with a brain that is already under duress – a brain that has minimal capacity for grasping new concepts or for deep reflection.
These conditions demand us to be vigilant in our determination to engage participants, and, most importantly, to help them translate their learning and insights into sustainable changes in workplace behaviour. Tiny Habits is the most powerful, the most successful and the simplest tool we’ve yet discovered for helping people make changes that stick.
In addition to full three-week Programs, each topic can be delivered as an introductory one-week Program. Tiny Habits can also be incorporated into existing programs, delivered as a Masterclass on a specific topic or used to strengthen the impact of executive coaching.
